  Football legend, Diego Maradona reportedly suffered a head injury after a fall at his home a week before he died from a heart attack but was never taken to the hospital.   Italian newspaper La Repubblica claim that the Argentine icon who had only recently had surgery on his brain to remove a blood clot, was not taken for a scan after falling and hitting his head at home.    A lawyer representing a nurse who worked for Maradona is reported to have said: 'Maradona fell to the ground seven days before his death.   One of the 43 Zabarmari rice farmers slaughtered by Boko Haram terrorists at Koshebe village in Mafa Local Govt Area of Borno, has been identified as Babangida.   Chiroma Usman, who earlier shared photos from the scene of the massacre, described the young man as a promising student.    "Justice for Babangida a very promising student who was brutally murdered among other 42 innocent souls at the Zabarmari atttack" he wrote.

  President Muhammadu Buhari has again reacted to the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram insurgents in Zabarmari community of Borno state.    The Nigerian President in a statement released on Monday November 30, said the Armed Forces have been given the marching order to take the fight to the insurgents, not on a one-off, but on a continuous basis.    Buhari who described the massacre by Boko Haram in Zabarmari as senseless, barbaric, gruesome and cowardly, added that the federal government will be intensifying its cooperation with neighbouring countries on bilateral and multilateral levels, to ensure that there is no hiding place for the terrorists.   The statement read;    Nothing is more important than ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians. Everything is secondary when security is at stake. I will ensure that more resources are made available to the military and other security agencies to prosecute the war against terrorism.

One dead, many injured as two men fight over lady's love in Taraba

  A fight which ensued between two men over a lady's love has left at least one person dead in Jalingo, Taraba State's capital.    Channels Television reported that the fight which occurred in Water Board area of Jalingo, also led to the destruction of properties worth millions of naira.   It was learnt that the fight degenerated into a religious crisis as one of the men hired thugs to inflict mayhem on the other, while the other one called on friends to assist in fighting back.   The tension was however doused after security operatives intervened, A businessman who specialises in a bread bakery, Salihu Sale said;    “This incident started four days ago as a minor scuffle without notice.   Kabir Muhammmad Gunmen attacked motorists at Kwanar Tsintsiya axis of Kaduna-Zaria Road in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday November 29.    One of the injured travellers is Alhaji Kabir Muhammmad, the brother of Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Mamadi, former Member Federal House of Representatives Igabi Federal Constituency. He is currently hospitalized at 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.      Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the reports in a statement on Monday, said troops of 4 Battalion Nigerian Army overpowered the armed bandits, killing one while several escaped with bullet wounds. 27-year-old man stabbed to death by armed men in Delta after he reportedly won N15m bet

  A 27-year-old man identified as Prince Mieyebi was stabbed to death by three armed men in Warri, Delta State, after he reportedly won N15 million in a betting game.   It was gathered that the young man was killed while closing a shop belonging to his Aunt at the popular Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of the State on November 27.      According to reports, the assailants fled with the deceased's mobile phone after stabbing him on various parts of his body.   A Nigerian man was arrested for allegedly throwing his 4-year-old step-grandson out of a window from the 3rd floor of an apartment in Danau Kota, Setapak in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, November 29.   Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid, who confirmed the development on Monday, said the 42-year-old suspect was detained at his house shortly after the incident at about 8am on Sunday.      He said the incident happened when the suspect attempted to rape his 24-year-old stepdaughter who was the boy’s mother.   The suspect tried to rape his stepdaughter who was sleeping at that time but was stopped by his wife and three other stepdaughters.     The suspect became furious and went on a rampage, hitting and stomping on his wife and four stepchildren in the house,” he told journalists on Monday.    Nik Ros Azhan said the suspect hit his step-grandson, before flinging him out of the window in the main room.   He sai

  Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu reacted to the murder of scores of farmers in Zabarmari village by asking whether the victims got military clearance before resuming farming.   Mr. Shehu said this while speaking to BBC 'Newsday' on Sunday, November 29, hours after the gruesome killings.   Garba Shehu said the government was sad about the tragic incident, but added that the "people need to understand what it is like in the Lake Chad Basin area."   He insisted that much of the area has been liberated from Boko Haram terrorists but said there are still some areas that have not been cleared for the return of villagers who have been displaced.   He continued: "The truth has to be said.   US President-Elect, Joe Biden, is set to announce a Nigerian-born lawyer, Adewale Adeyemo, as deputy Treasury secretary, website, Politico reported on Sunday November 29.   According to the report, Adeyemo’s appointment is one of many key cabinet positions Biden is expected to announce in the coming days as he prepares to start his White House tenure.   Adeyemo, a former senior international economic adviser during the Obama administration, will serve under former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, who Biden will reportedly appoint to lead the US Treasury Department.   Born in Nigeria, Adeyemo was raised in California where he obtained a bachelor’s degree before proceeding to Yale Law School.   Before his appointment into the Obama administration, Adeyemo worked as an editor at the Hamilton Project, then served as senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to Jack Lew in the United States Department of Treasury.   He later worked as the chief negotiator

  Donald Trump is still lamenting his electoral loss to Joe Biden.   The US President has refused to concede to Joe Biden since media agencies projected the Democrat won 306 electoral college votes in the November 3 elections.   Despite losing his legal challenges so far to the electoral results, Trump late Sunday night, November 29, 2020 took to his Twitter page to state that he didnt lose the election. In all caps, Trump wrote "NO WAY WE LOST THIS ELECTION' in reaction to a video by Republican Dan Scavino, showing thousands of Trump fans at a campaign rally.       In another tweet, Trump said it was impossible for him to lead the Republican party to gain seats in congress, retain the senate while he'll be the only one to lose.   He then referred to the November elections as 'rigged'.       Except there is a major change in Trump's legal challenges, he will depart the White House on January 20, 2021.

  The Lagos State Police Command has arrested seven suspected members of Eiye Confraternity at Agura area, Ikorodu, Lagos state.   A statement released by the command's spokesperson, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, says police operatives attached to Imota Division arrested the suspects on Saturday 28th November 2020 at 2pm.   Adejobi gave the names of the suspected cultists as Abolaji Arbayo, Josiah Offem, Oluwapelumi Oyeyinka, Limidi Taofeeq, Ahmed Shittu who drives their operational vehicle, Zainab Nurudeen who serves as the armourer who sources for the guns to operate, and Rabiu Ganiyu.   He mentioned that the suspected cultists attacked members of the vigilante in their area, inflicting degrees of injury on them just to avenge the arrest of one of their members by the “Agbekoya” group.   Items recovered from them included machetes and some charms, one green paragon bus with Reg No LAGOS APP 600 XA that was used by the suspects for their operations.    Adejobi s

  A suspected kidnapper, pictured above, has been nabbed after mistakenly boarding   a commercial vehicle owned by one of his victims in Sokoto state.   The driver who was kidnapped along Kankara in Katsina state while returning from Kano about two months ago, reportedly spent three weeks in captivity and was released after paying an undisclosed amount of money as ransom.   Daily Trust reported that the suspect was recognised by the victim when he boarded his vehicle on his way to Kano state.   A National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW) member said;    “The driver was quick to identify him because the incident happened not too long ago.  “After identifying him, he alerted our leaders who in turned informed the nearest police outpost.”   It was learnt that the driver was asked to move towards Kwannawa motor park in Dange-Shuni local government area of the state, where the car was blocked by police.
