Brazil's President Bolsonaro says he has 'mould' in his lungs and has been feeling weak as his wife tests positive for Coronavirus

Brazilian President, Jair Bolsonaro has said he has 'mould' in his lungs, having spent weeks in isolation after testing positive for Coronavirus.

The 65-year-old also said in his weekly Facebook live address that the antibiotics he has been taking for an undisclosed illness has left him feeling weak.

He said: "I've just taken a blood exam. I was a bit weak yesterday. They have also found a bit of an infection. I'm taking antibiotics now. It must have been those 20 days inside the house, we catch other things. I've caught mold, mold in my lungs. It must be that."

The far-right president spent nearly 20 days in semi-isolation, after testing positive for the virus on July 7 and on July 25, he announced via Twitter that he had tested negative.

His wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, the Science and Technology Minister has also tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement from the President's press office on Thursday, July 30.

In his Thursday address, the President also thanked God and hydroxychloroquine for his health.

"I'm healed from COVID. I have antibodies, no problems. In my particular case, I first thank God, and secondly, the medication prescribed by the presidential doctor: hydroxychloroquine," Bolsonaro said.

"The following day, I was already OK. If it was a coincidence or not, I don't know. But it works," the president added.

President Buhari presides over virtual Council of State meeting (photos)

President Buhari today hosted a virtual Council of State meeting with former President, Goodluck Jonathan, the only former leader that was present physically. The meeting took place at the Council chambers in the statehouse Abuja and started at about 11am.  Also physically present at the meeting were the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN); Senate President Ahmad Lawan; Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari. The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and Minister for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mallam Mohammed Bello, were also physically present at the meeting. Among the former heads of government that attended the meeting virtually were former Military leader, General Ibrahim Babangida; Chief Ernest Shonekan, and General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Suspected South African drug lord, Teddy Mafia shot dead

  Suspected South African drug lord, Yaganathan Pillay, popularly known as Teddy Mafia, has been shot dead. He was 59.    Reports said Pilay was shot twice in the head at his home in Shallcross, south of Durban on Monday afternoon. He died shortly after arriving at Chatsmed hospital in Chatsworth.   After the shooting, two alleged hitmen were beheaded and their bodies burnt on Taurus Street in Shallcross, south of Durban.   Confirming the shooting, Brigadier Jay Naicker of KwaZulu Natal (KZN) South Africa Police Service (SAPS) said Pillay sustained two gunshot wounds to the head and later died in hospital.   “The daughter of this well-known drug dealer, was informed by her father that he would be expecting visitors earlier on Monday afternoon.   “She left him and went to the back of the house.
