The Ogun state police command has said that the family of 16-year-old Melojuekun Barakat who accused Ogun state commissioner for environment, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun of sexually harassing her can't stop the investigation. This is coming after the family of the victim announced that they were withdrawing the allegation against the suspended commissioner. However the Ogun state police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen that the victim’s father cannot stop the investigation and charges against the commissioner as he is not the one directly involved in the case. Oyeyemi argued that the offence was committed against the state and the position of the family is “immaterial”. Suspected South African drug lord, Yaganathan Pillay, popularly known as Teddy Mafia, has been shot dead. He was 59. Reports said Pilay was shot twice in the head at his home in Shallcross, south of Durban on Monday afternoon. He died shortly after arriving at Chatsmed hospital in Chatsworth. After the shooting, two alleged hitmen were beheaded and their bodies burnt on Taurus Street in Shallcross, south of Durban. Prof. Khalifa Dikwa, Dean of Borno Elders Forum has raised an alarm of nobody being safe in Borno state except in the state capital, Maiduguri. Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, Dikwa stated that even when Boko Haram insurgents are not physically present, they psychologically disturbing the people. He said; “Even if they (Boko Haram) are not physically there, they are psychologically there, disturbing the people. “From time to time, they ride their motorcycles, come and harass them to pay levies and so on.
